I need you.
Pita by thedragonhatchery
He’s got a quiet resilience to him that in inborn in Hearth Dragons. His long fur mimics the flames and the bright, hot coals from which his egg was hatched, and also keeps him warm when he’s between homes and outdoors in colder climates.
Sweet and friendly, he prefers comfort to excitement and will stay close to the fire in a home or on the roof of the house in the sun, using the chimney as his personal “dragon door.” He is an especially tidy dragon, keeping your fireplace and home clean, and will burrow in the embers of your last fire to sleep at night before sweeping it up with his fur and shaking himself out outside the next morning.
He prefers cakes as treats and will horde your jewelry and flowers in your chimney (he likes pretty things, just like any other dragon). But be careful, too many sweets will make him fat as hearth dragons are prone to lounging, and those big brown doe eyes will always get him what he wants. He’s very persuasive.
**Word of warning: Don’t flip him onto his back. He’s very sensitive about his stomach and may get testy, especially if he doesn’t trust you. (His long claws and big, flat, heavily padded paws are particularly strong, and not just for raking coals.)
